2 Early Morning House Fires In SWR Cause Major Damage

At least two people were displaced as a result of the incidents.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Firefighters in Southwest Riverside County had a busy early morning Tuesday, battling two house fires in less than two hours. One home was destroyed as a result of the fires, while two others were damaged.

Firefighters responded first to the 28000 block of Red Gum Drive about 12:15 a.m. and located a single wide mobile home fully involved with fire, which had spread to a nearby double wide mobile home, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Though they were able to contain the fire by 12:53 a.m., the home where the blaze sparked was destroyed and the other home received significant interior and exterior damage. It wasn't immediately clear how many people were displaced as a result of the fire.

Then, at 1:54 a.m., the Riverside County Fire Department was dispatched to the 10 block of Villa Valtelena in the Tuscany Hills community of Lake Elsinore. The arriving crews found the fire burning in the home's garage, including a parked vehicle.

That fire was contained to the garage by 1:54 a.m., the fire department said. However, due to major smoke and water damage throughout the house, the American Red Cross was called to help two people displaced.
