2nd Murrieta Meeting To Address Rash Of DUI Crashes
"This is a movement," the meeting's organizer says.
MURRIETA, CA — Murrieta and Southwest Riverside County residents are invited to attend the next community meeting aimed at tackling the issue of DUI drivers in the region. A similar meeting was held earlier this month, after two suspected DUI-related crashes turned deadly in the span of just a few days.
Murrieta resident Karen Kools, who is organizing the meeting, told Patch via email that nearly 200 people showed up to the first meeting on June 13.
"We had representatives from CHP, RSO, Murrieta police, Temecula police, MADD, the District Attorney's office and city council members on our panel," Kools said. "We got educated on current laws and current legislation in Sacramento being worked on. Family members whose loved ones were killed were also present."
