'Fully Engulfed' Car Fire In Winchester Spreads To Vegetation

WINCHESTER, CA — Firefighters are battling a blaze in some vegetation that sparked from a car fire this afternoon, the Riverside County Fire Department reports.

The fire was reported around 1:25 p.m. along Domenigoni Parkway, near Patterson Avenue, according to California Highway Patrol reports.

Fire officials tell Patch that as of 1:45 p.m. "several crews" were at the scene, with more on the way after the fire spread to a large spot of vegetation.

It wasn't immediately clear if there were any injuries related to the incident.

The CHP also reports an accident between three sedans happened at the same intersection, just minutes after the fire broke out.

Traffic reports indicated a major slowdown on Domenigoni as a result of the fire.
