Major SWR Crash Closes Roadway For Several Hours
UPDATED: The roadway is now back open.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Three people were hurt, one of them critically, in a crash in Lake Elsinore Wednesday afternoon. Law enforcement officials closed down the street where the wreck occurred for nearly four hours.
Riverside County Sheriff's Dep. Robyn Flores says the crash happened around 12:20 p.m. along Collier Avenue, near Chaney Lane.
The head-on crash involved two vehicles— a small truck and a sedan, according to fire and police officials. The driver of the sedan had to be cut free from the wreckage and was rushed to the hospital with major injuries, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The other driver and a juvenile passenger were also hospitalized with injuries described as minor.
In the hours following the incident, City of Lake Elsinore officials urged motorists to steer clear of the area, as a hard closure was in place along Collier Avenue, between Chaney and 3rd streets.

Though that closure was estimated to last up to eight hours, the roadway was back open by 4:15 p.m.
