Murrieta Leader Heads To D.C. For Presidential Appointment
Randon Lane will be working for the US Department of Transportation.

MURRIETA, CA — A now-former Murrieta lawmaker is leaving his governmental roles in Southwest Riverside County behind as he takes on a new position; a role given directly to him via the president.
Randon Lane announced earlier this month that he was resigning from the Murrieta City Council, League Of California Cities, Southern California Association Of Governments, Riverside Transit Agency — as well as from the race for District 3 County Supervisor — to go and work for the US Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C.
It wasn't immediately clear what the mayor pro-tem of Murrieta's role at the DOT will be. His resignations will take effect at the end of the month, Lane told Valley News.

"I have been involved in the city for 17 years, so I guess you could say it's bittersweet," Lane told the news agency. "I've had a great tie to this community, but this is a great opportunity to do something at a national level. It is not very often that you get appointed by the President of the United States."
