On March 30, just after 2:30 a.m., deputies arrived at Old Town Front Street and 3rd Street, where a victim had been stabbed.
"A 911 caller advised officers that a man was stabbed. Arriving emergency responders found the victim, who had sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to Southwest Station deputies. He was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries," Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez told Patch. "The victim was treated at a local hospital and later released."
By the time officers arrived, the suspects had fled the scene. Southwest Sheriff’s Station investigators responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
Later on the morning of the stabbing, the intersection of Old Town Front Street was briefly closed while the investigation was being conducted and reopened about 6 a.m. Sunday.
An Old Town shopkeeper told Patch that as they arrived to open their businesses at 7 a.m. that morning, clean up from the violent attack was still underway.
"I saw the blocked-off street. They were still spraying blood from the steps," she said.
