Murrieta Ranked Among Safest California Cities To Raise A Child

MURRIETA, CA — Murrieta has been ranked among the top 10 safest cities in California — and the 20th safest nationwide — to raise a child, according to SafeWise's 2019 report on the "50 Safest Cities to Raise a Child." The report looked at statistics such as violent crime rates, sex offender rates, property crime rates, and graduation rates, among others.

In California, Murrieta ranked sixth overall with a safety score of 91.77 out of a possible 100, and was bested by the following cities:

#5. Flower Mound, Texas

#6. Plymouth, Minnesota

#7. San Ramon

#11. Mission Viejo

#12. Gilber, Arizona

#13. Lake Forest

#14. Frisco, Texas

#15. Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

#16. Allen, Texas

#17. Thousand Oaks

#18. League City, Texas

#19. Troy, Michigan

#20. Murrieta

Besides Murrieta, San Ramon, Mission Viejo, Irvine, Thousand Oaks, and Lake Forest making the national top 10 list, 12 other California cities made the top 50 rankings:
