Re-Enactment Of Fatal DUI Crash Planned For Murrieta Students

The Every Fifteen Minutes Program will take place at Murrieta Mesa High School at 10 a.m.

MURRIETA, CA -- Local agencies will gather Thursday to re-enact a fatal DUI crash in an effort to inform students about the repercussions of driving while intoxicated. The Every Fifteen Minutes Program will take place at Murrieta Mesa High School at 10 a.m.

Hosted by the Murrieta Police Department and sponsored by local businesses and communities, the program is designed to dramatically instill teenagers with the potentially dangerous consequences of drinking alcohol and using drugs.

Numerous police, fire, and ambulance personnel will be responding to Murrieta Mesa High School with lights and sirens at 10 a.m. There will also be a California Highway Patrol helicopter landing on school grounds at 10:20 a.m. to airlift one of the "critically injured" students to a trauma center, officials said.

This entire event is a mock scene. There is no actual emergency and no students, faculty, or staff at the high school is injured or are in any danger during the staged program, officials said.
