RePlanet Buyback Recycling Centers Close In Murrieta
The company closed all its sites in California, but other recycling options exist for locals to redeem cans and bottles.
MURRIETA, CA — RePlanet Buyback Center, a network of locations that paid cash for cans and bottles, terminated all employees and closed its 284 recycling sites throughout California, including the ones in Murrieta, according to a company statement.
Company officials cited a reduction in state fees, the depressed pricing of recycled aluminum and PET plastic, rising operating costs, minimum wage increases, plus health and workers compensation insurance, as factors for the shutdown, calling the business "no longer sustainable."
RePlanet's Murrieta locations included those outside the following grocery stores:

RePlanet said it will file for Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors and will liquidate its assets.
