Suspected DUI Driver Slams Into Truck In Murrieta Intersection

Police say one person was transported to the hospital in the collision.

MURRIETA, CA — A motorist is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol and causing a crash in a Murrieta intersection on Tuesday evening, police tell Patch.

The crash happened around 5:10 p.m. at the intersection of Juniper Street and Madison Avenue. Police say witnesses spotted a person driving a silver sedan run a red light while traveling southbound on Madison Avenue and then slam into a truck that was turning from Juniper Street.

The driver of the sedan was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and is facing charges of DUI, according to police.

The driver of the truck was not harmed, police said.

The intersection was briefly closed as a result of the crash, but was back open by 6:30 p.m.
