The long-awaited American Canyon redevelopment project is underway with the construction of new homes.

AMERICAN CANYON, CA β€” Two amphitheaters are proposed at the Napa Valley Ruins and Gardens at Watson Ranch in American Canyon.

City staff received a permit application April 3 for the development of the amphitheaters north of the Vintage Ranch and Watson Ranch Artisan residential subdivisions.

The project consists of a 3,300-seat outdoor Quarry Lake amphitheater with a 2,400-square-foot stage, along with an 800-seat outdoor Fig Tree amphitheater with a 1,650-square-foot stage on the east side of the NVR&G.

According to the applicant, Terrence McGrath of McGrath Properties, the amphitheaters would "contribute significantly to the desirability of American Canyon as a destination by creating an anchor for Napa Valley Ruins and Gardens."

Homes are under construction at the adjacent Vintage Ranch, and a design permit was approved for a 30-unit hotel.
