2 Teens Arrested In Connection To Shooting, Gang Activity: Police

NAPA, CA β€” Napa police on Thursday arrested two teens they say are connected to the Norteno street gang for an alleged attempted shooting in Napa earlier this month.

At 11:02 p.m. Feb. 16, police responded to a reported shooting near the 1600 block of Myrtle Avenue. Multiple callers said subjects were chasing an individual walking their dog before hearing two gunshots.

Arriving officers found two spent shell casings and one live round of ammunition on the ground. No one was injured and the suspects fled the area.

Investigators later discovered the suspects are allegedly known members of the Norteno criminal street gang.

Detectives on Thursday served two search warrants related to the shooting investigation. They arrested a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old and booked them into Napa County Juvenile Detention center.

Police said investigators are recommending the DA's office charge the pair with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal street gang enhancement, and conspiracy.
