American Canyon Police Officer Involved In Shooting
One suspect was hospitalized in the shooting and two guns were recovered from the scene, American Canyon police said.

AMERICAN CANYON, CA — An officer-involved shooting happened Thursday in a police chase from American Canyon.
Around 3:15 p.m. Thursday, officers with the American Canyon Police Department made a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation at southbound state Highway 29 and American Canyon Road.
The driver failed to stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued into Vallejo, American Canyon police said.

The suspect's car became disabled at Souza Way and Cronin Drive.
There were two people in the car and they ran off while armed with loaded firearms, according to a statement from the Solano County District Attorney's Office.

Shots were fired by one of the responding officers. The officer immediately rendered aid to that person, later determined to be an 18-year-old man riding as the front passenger in the vehicle.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, the DA's Office said.
The driver was located and arrested without further incident.
Police said two guns were found at the scene and recovered.
The Solano County Major Crimes Task Force responded to conduct an independent investigation independent from the Napa County Sheriff's Office/American Canyon Police Department.
