Early Morning Shutdown On Highway 29

NAPA VALLEY, CA — A section of state Highway 29 in Napa County was shut down in both directions after power poles were knocked down in the area, the California Highway Patrol said Friday morning.

The closure was reported shortly after 6 a.m. on Highway 29 near mile marker 42.82 and Old Lawley Toll Road near Calistoga, according to the CHP.

No estimate was given for when the affected section of the highway will reopen. Motorists were warned to expect delays and to avoid the area if possible.

The cause of the damage was not immediately known, and no injuries were reported.
