City Of St. Helena Launches Mobile App

St. Helena Grapevine allows residents to report potholes and other issues so the city expects an influx of requests in the first few days.

ST. HELENA, CA — With the launch of the St. Helena Grapevine mobile app, City of St. Helena residents have new ways to seek information from and communicate with the city.

The free, easy-to-use app and web-based platform allows City of St. Helena community members to provide pictures, videos, specific descriptions and more to request fixes to issues throughout the city including potholes, missing signs and water leaks.

This tool will allow various city departments, including Public Works, to manage requests more efficiently with a centralized and integrated reporting and task management system, city officials said in a news release. City staff can assign tasks to specific staff members or teams, track their status, and engage with residents further as needed, then let them know when an issue has been fixed or resolved.

“This is a great tool for our community and our staff,” said Joe Leach, director of Public Works for the City of St. Helena. “St. Helena Grapevine provides an easy way to report a variety of issues and provide all the information that our staff needs to respond and take action. This will increase efficiency across departments and allow us to have an even greater engagement with public partners and highlight all the work that is being completed.”

Beyond the ability to report issues, St. Helena Grapevine allows community members to see issues already reported by other users. The app shows the status of each request, whether the issue is getting fixed or resolved, and what has already been completed. While reviewing issues, community members can add their comments and give insight into problems already identified by their neighbors. The platform gives residents the ability to create their own "watch areas" and receive notifications about all issues reported in a specific area, enabling them to follow the progress of all service requests, not just the ones they report.

“I am very excited by the launch of the St. Helena Grapevine,” St. Helena City Manager Anil Comelo said. “We anticipate getting a large influx of requests in the first few days. We ask that the community be patient and know that while our goal is always to address and fix issues quickly, the large number of service requests will take a few months to get through.”

The St. Helena Grapevine mobile app is available for download on iPhone and Android devices. In addition to the mobile apps, residents can send requests through the City of St. Helena’s website at CityOfStHelena.org/Grapevine. While no account is needed to report an issue, an account is needed to receive notifications.
