Homeowner Fights Back, Survives Attack: Napa County Sheriff's Office

NAPA COUNTY, CA — A 61-year-old Napa County man survived an attack Saturday morning on his property in a rural, unincorporated area of Napa, authorities said.

The victim lives in the 5200 block of Silverado Trail and confronted 33-year-old Andrew Kenneth Dixon near his utility box on the Silverado Trail property, according to the Napa County Sheriff's Office.

"Eventually, Dixon stabbed the homeowner in the back, however, the 61-year-old victim grabbed the knife and stabbed the suspect," sheriff's officials said.

Both men were expected to survive their injuries.

Dixon was booked into Napa County jail on suspicion of elder abuse and assault with a deadly weapon in addition to the attempted murder charge.

He remained in custody Monday and was being held without bail.
