ID Theft Suspect: Silver Mercedes, No Plates, Tinted Windows, Parole

A traffic stop at an American Canyon Safeway gas station lead police to a suspected identity theft operation in a couple's apartment.

NAPA VALLEY, CA — A traffic stop involving a silver Mercedes with no license plates and illegal window tinting, whose driver is on parole, led American Canyon police to a suspected identity theft operation in a couple's apartment.

American Canyon police stopped the Mercedes at a Safeway gas station on Wednesday afternoon. The driver was Armonie Pugh, according to police.

A search of Pugh's American Canyon home found credit cards belonging to others, a printer/scanner with blank check templates, and mail addressed to different people, according to American Canyon Police.

Police said during the search, officers found ID and credit cards in the purse of a woman who lives with Pugh, Pryscilla Perez, that did not belong to her. Perez is also on supervised release in Napa County.

Police arrested Pugh for suspected identity theft and forgery. Perez was arrested on suspicion of identity theft. After both arrests, they were taken to the Napa County Department of Corrections.
