Man, 59, Accused Of Molesting Girlfriend's Daughter, 9, In Napa County
The Yountville resident was arrested Tuesday and remains behind bars with his bail set at $500,000.
NAPA COUNTY, CA — Several months after a 13-year-old girl contacted the Napa Police Department and reported that her mother’s boyfriend had molested her when she was 9 years old, the man has been arrested, police said in a statement Wednesday to members of the local press.
When the girl came forward in March, the suspect was identified as Yountville resident Carlos Cabrera, a 59-year-old convicted felon and registered sex offender.
The ensuing investigation involved interviewing several people.

"Because it was a historical incident, family members, friends, and possible witnesses were interviewed over the course of months," Napa police Sgt. Pete Piersig said.
The police department sent the case to the Napa County District Attorney’s Office with a request for the charges of sexual assault and lewd conduct on a minor.

It was further alleged that Cabrera was found in possession of methamphetamine when a search warrant was served at his residence in the 1900 block of Mount Street in Yountville.
On Sept. 19, a warrant was issued for Cabrera’s arrest.
One week later, on Tuesday, Sept. 26, he was taken into custody by Napa County sheriff's deputies.
"It was a sheriff’s arrest on an NPD case/warrant," Piersig said.
Cabrera was booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections on Tuesday on suspicion of lewd acts with a minor, possession of methamphetamine, and other penalty-enhancing charges. He was being held on $500,000 bail as of Wednesday morning, records showed.
Meanwhile, the investigation was continuing and police asked anyone with information regarding Cabrera to contact NPD Detective Isabella Romero at 707 257-9509.
