Man Suspected In 2 Dunkin' Donuts Burglaries: American Canyon PD

An East Bay man is suspected of breaking into the same Dunkin' Donuts twice.

AMERICAN CANYON, CA β€” A Richmond man is suspected of breaking into Dunkin' Donuts in American Canyon not once but twice, police said Wednesday.

Employees at Dunkin', 410 Napa Junction Road, told police they came to work Tuesday morning to find the back door was broken open. Officers recovered video footage from the area to investigate, and saw two suspects in a white van used a crowbar to force open the back door to the business earlier that morning.

Police said there was a similar burglary in late February at the same Dunkin'. In that burglary, the same suspects stole money and business equipment.

Officers reviewed the video footage and determined a license plate number for the van.

On Tuesday night, officers spotted the van parked near Napa Junction Road. The person inside the van, identified as 51-year-old Nasir Khan of Richmond, was determined to be on searchable probation out of Solano County.

Officers proceeded to search the van and found burglary tools, clothing worn during the burglaries, and drug paraphernalia, according to police.

Khan was arrested and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections on suspicion of felony burglary, vandalism, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He remained in custody Wednesday.

Police did not say whether they've been able to identify the second burglary suspect.
