Mariam Aboudamous Announces Bid For Napa County Supervisor
American Canyon City Councilmember Mariam Aboudamous will run for Napa County Board of Supervisors District 5 in the March 2024 primary.

NAPA COUNTY, CA — American Canyon City Councilmember Mariam Aboudamous on Monday announced her campaign for Napa County Board of Supervisors, District 5, in the March 2024 primary election.
"I am proud of the results we have been able to deliver to residents while I have served on the American Canyon City Council," Aboudabmous said. "I believe my experience and dedication to solving issues in our region would serve our county well, which is why I've decided to run for Napa County Supervisor."
Aboudamous was elected to the American Canyon City Council in 2016 and reelected in 2020. She currently serves on the Napa County League of Governments and the Association of Bay Area Governments, and as vice president of the North Bay Division for CalCities.

Now, she seeks to represent District 5, which encompasses the City of American Canyon, Coombsville and the Avenues, and the County Industrial Area.
"With the right leadership at the county, I know we can improve regional transit and reduce traffic, build more affordable housing, invest in water infrastructure and climate resiliency, and tackle our homelessness crisis," Aboudamous said. "Our county's brightest days are ahead of us and I look forward to working together to achieve them."

Aboudamous grew up in American Canyon, where she said public service has been a large part of her life. When she was 13 years old, she began volunteering with the City of American Canyon. These days, Aboudamous and her husband live in the Vintage Ranch neighborhood of American Canyon with their 14-month-old daughter.
Professionally, Aboudamous is a family law attorney. She earned her J.D. from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law and a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California, Davis.
District 5 is currently represented by Supervisor Belia Ramos, who began her current four-year term in 2020. Ramos filed a candidate intention statement in March 2021 for the March 2024 primary, according to the Napa County Registrar of Voters website. It is not clear whether she still intends to seek reelection.
