NAPA, CA -- Three arrests were made during a DUI crackdown last weekend that happened to coincide with St. Patrick's Day celebrations.
The Napa Police Department Traffic Unit conducted a DUI Saturation Patrol between the hours of 6 p.m. Friday, March 17 and 2 a.m. Saturday, March 18. During this enforcement period officers conducted 46 vehicle enforcement stops, during which one allegedly drunk driver was arrested.
Also, two people were taken into custody for what the NPD said were misdemeanor warrants related to DUI; three misdemeanor citations were issued for driving while unlicensed, driving with a suspended license and driving without an ignition interlock device; and four citations issued for moving violations.
Napa PD has said it will conduct another DUI Saturation Patrol on Friday, April 7, in an ongoing commitment to lowering deaths and injuries upon our streets and highways.
Napa's DUI Saturation Patrols are funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
