Napa Police Arrest 5 During Weekend DUI Sweep
The Napa Police Department Traffic Unit conducted a DUI saturation patrol between 6 p.m and 2 am on Jan. 28-29.

NAPA, CA -- Five people were arrested for driving under the influence and another seven were cited for various offenses during the Napa Police's latest DUI patrols, which took place last weekend.
Napa Police Department Traffic Unit conducted the DUI patrol between the hours of 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. on Jan., 28 in the City of Napa.
The patrol, according to the NPD resulted in:

- 45 vehicle enforcement stops;
- 12 drivers being evaluated for DUI;
- 5 DUI-Alcohol suspects arrested, and;
- 7 citations being issued for traffic violations, including unlicensed driving.
Drivers caught driving impaired can expect the impact of a DUI arrest to include jail time, fines, fees, DUI classes, license suspension and other expenses that can exceed $10,000, not to mention the embarrassment when friends and family find out.
Napa PD has said it will conduct another DUI patrol sometime in February, with the exact date and locations still to be determined.

The department's DUI saturation patrols are funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
