Northern California Lawmakers Form Delta Region Caucus
Assemblymember Jim Frazier and state Sen. Bill Dodd have formed a caucus dedicated to protecting the interests of the California Delta area.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA -- Two regional politicians have formed, and will co-chair, a new legislative caucus that's dedicated to promoting and protecting the interests of the California Delta region.
On Feb. 6, Assemblymember Jim Frazier (D–Oakley) and Senator Bill Dodd (D-Napa) confirmed that they've sent a letter to Gov. Jerry Brown announcing the formation of a Legislative Delta Caucus.
The California Delta region is made up of five counties -- Contra Costa, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solano and Yolo -- and is home to over four million people. The Caucus is expected to allow legislators to maintain a more united voice on important issues affecting the region by keeping them updated, briefed and educated while also providing a venue for collaboration with various public and state entities.

“The Delta has been my home for the past 39 years and I take great pride in representing a district that signifies the Heart of the Delta,” Delta Caucus Co-Chair Frazier said in a statement provided to Patch Media. “I am excited about taking on this new leadership role to expand my efforts to protect the interests of my neighbors and ongoing preservation of the Delta.”
“Ensuring a vibrant and sustainable Delta is critical for our region and the entire state,” Caucus Co-Chair Dodd said. “I look forward to working closely with my fellow Delta Caucus members to protect and strengthen the Delta’s economy and environment. We will be fighting to protect this precious resource and region for our residents, visitors and wildlife.”
