POLICE: Kidnap, Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested at Adult Probation Office
2 other suspects in kidnapping, attempted murder already in custody.

A 33-year-old Napa woman was arrested Wednesday at the Napa County Adult Probation office after police she was one of three people involved in an alleged kidnapping where a man was locked in the truck of a car.
Cheryl Roberts was taken into custody at about 4:30 p.m. on suspicion of kidnapping, attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and felony violation of a bail release agreement.
Police said the incident began at about 4:30 p.m. Wedneday, when Roberts was contacted in the Adult Probation building in regards to the kidnap and attempted murder case that occurred on July 25 in the 2100 block of Shurtleff Avenue.

Roberts was identified as one of the people involved in the assault and kidnap of the victim, Shane Michael Newhouse, 40.
Newhouse had been bound with zip ties and thrown in the trunk of the vehicle of one of the other suspects -- Donald Arthur Lawson, 49. Lawson and the other suspect, Daniel James Allen, 36, were both taken into custody last week. Both are residents of Vallejo.

Newhouse had been told he was going to be killed, police said. The man, Shane Michael Newhouse, 40, was able to escape from the vehicle on Hwy 221.
Roberts had fled the scene because she knew she had a warrant for her arrest and because she was on a conditional release from a prior burglary case. Roberts turned herself in on her outstanding warrant and was released from the jail.
Roberts went to Adult Probation to report in as directed, police said. Roberts was contacted about this case at Adult Probation.
She was subsequently arrested and booked.

Ryan Leighton was taken into custody at about 12:30 a.m. today in the vicinity of First and Washington streets in Napa.
Napa Police officers contacted Leighton on the corner of First and Washington streets because he matched the description of a male suspect in the report of a theft from the Safeway at 1620 Clay St. The Safeway theft is still under investigation, police said.
Leighton told officers that he had not been involved in any theft from Safeway. During the contact, officers asked Leighton if he had anything illegal or weapons on his person.
He admitted to having a knife and an herb, police said Leighton was searched.
Suspected methamphetamine was located in the hooded sweatshirt he was wearing.
Leighton was arrested and booked at Napa County Department of Corrections.

A 35-year-old man was arrested late Wednesday on suspicion of trespass after he allegedly entered another person's house and borrowed a cell phone.
Keith Trigg was taken into custody just before midnight at a home in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue in Napa.
Just before midnight Wednesday, Napa Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue for a report of an unwanted subject.
Upon arrival, officers contacted Keith Trigg, police said.
Trigg had entered the victim’s home and had entered the person's bedroom to borrow a cell phone without permission, police said.
Trigg has been told in the past that he is to not be within this residence or anywhere on the property or he could be subject to arrest for trespass. Trigg acknowledged this information, police said.
The property owner arrived on scene, confirmed that Trigg had been told several times in the last several months not to set foot on the property, police said.
The property owner placed Trigg under citizen’s arrest for trespass.
Trigg was arrested and booked at the jail.
