POLICE LOG: Theft, Domestic Violence, Drug Possession

Napa police arrest numerous suspects early this week.

A 37-year-old man was arrested Monday evening for possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and meth possession.

Joe Fowler was taken into custody at about 5 p.m. in the vicinity of the 800 block of Third Street in Napa.

Police said the incident began when officers responded to the 800 block of Third Street for the report of a subject with an outstanding warrant at a residence in the area.

The subject was identified as Joe Fowler. Fowler had a confirmed Napa County arrest warrant for a violation of mandatory supervision.

When officers knocked on the front door and announced their presence, Fowler allegedly ran through the apartment and jumped off the second story balcony onto an awning.

He climbed down a gated fence where he was met by several officers and taken into custody.

In the apartment where he had just fled, his backpack was retrieved.

The backpack allegedly contained four hypodermic needles/ syringes, a small baggie of suspected methamphetamine and alleged stolen property from a burglary of a storage unit that had recently occurred. 

Fowler was arrested and booked at Napa County Department of Corrections.

 A 48-year-old man was arrested Monday evening on suspicion of meth possession, probation  and violation of bail release agreement.

Michael Purkey was taken into custody at around 4:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Lassen and Valencia streets in Napa.

 The incident began at about 4 p.m. Monday, when a Napa police officer observed Purkey in the passenger seat of a vehicle in the area of Lassen and Valencia.

The officer stopped the vehicle to contact Purkey, who is currently on probation with search and seizure and is out on an OR agreement from an arrest last week.

The officer allegedly located a glass pipe with a useable amount of suspected methamphetamine in the bulb. Purkey admitted the pipe was his, police said.

Purkey was arrested and booked at NCDC.

A man was arrested Monday evening on suspicion of domestic violence.

Darrin Rodgers-Gutierrez was taken into custody at about 4:30 p.m. in a home in the 2400 block of Keiss Barn Place in Napa.               

Police said the incident began at about 4:30 p.m. when Napa Police officers responded to the area of D Street and Jefferson Street for the report of a seeing a female subject get pushed out of a vehicle.

The victim was contacted. She told officers that her boyfriend, Gutierrez, with whom she has a child in common, had gone to the store, police said. An argument ensued, during which time the victim was hit, pushed out of a vehicle and then held onto the ground, police said.

The victim had visible injuries, police said. Gutierrez was contacted at his residence on Keiss Barn Place and arrested.

A 28-year-old man was arrested Monday evening on suspicion of domestic violence.

 Martin Mireles was taken into custody at about 4:30 p.m. at a home in the 2000 block of Imola Avenue in Napa

 The incident began when Napa Police officers responded to a domestic violence call in the 200 block of Imola Avenue. 

 Mireles had allegedly been drinking alcoholic beverages. He became very upset with his wife when he saw a hickey on her neck, police said.

He had forgotten he had given her this hickey about three days ago, police said.

He accused her of cheating and head butted the victim causing injury, police said.

Mireless was arrested and booked at Napa County Department of Corrections.
