POLICE: Man Arrested After Foot Chase in Napa Streets

A 29-year-old Napa man was arrested Tuesday after police chased him on foot in downtown streets.

Trevor James Handy was taken into custody just before 10 a.m. on Brown Street at G Street on suspicion of resisting arrest, probation violation and an outstanding warrant.

The incident began when an officer observed a vehicle in the area of Brown and G Streets commit multiple vehicle code violations, including failing to stop for multiple stop signs in this residential area.

The officer attempted an enforcement stop on the driver; however, he fled a short distance. In the area of the 2100 block of Brown Street, he pulled toward the side of the road and fled on foot, jumping into the back yard of a residence over their fence.

A perimeter was set by other officers to prevent the suspect from further fleeing. During a lengthy search, Handy was located hiding under a car in the same block range and taken into custody without further incident.

He was booked on the above charges.

 A 22-year-old Napa man was arrested this week on suspicion of meth possession and transportation and probation violation after police stopped him while he was riding a high-end bicycle.

Jaime Francisco was taken into custody at 10:22 p.m. Sunday at Pueblo and Stadium avenues in Napa.

An officer observed Soto riding a bicycle in the area of the 1600 block of Pueblo Avenue allegedly in violation of several California Vehicle Codes.

As the officer observed Soto, he noticed the bicycle was similar to a bicycle stolen from a burglary at The Hub Bicycle Shop, 2500 Jefferson St. The bicycle stolen just before midnight on Sept. 23 was a men’s white and blue Giant Talon 24-speed.

An enforcement stop was conducted on Soto. He was found to have a warrant for his arrest and to be on Napa County probation with search and seizure terms.

Is a search of his person, a small amount of suspected methamphetamine was allegedly located in Soto’s wallet. He was arrested and booked for the above charges.

It was determined the bicycle was not related to the burglary.

A 20-year-old Napa-area transient was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, felony probation violation and outstanding warrants.

Victor Marcus Graham, 20, was taken into custody Oct. 5 at 1000 First St., Napa.

Graham was observed inside a business in the area of First Street and Main Street by an officer on routine patrol.

Graham was known to the officer from prior contacts and known to violently resist when officers attempt to arrest him. Graham was known to have outstanding warrants for his arrest.

The officer confirmed the two felony and onemisdemeanor warrants and made contact with Graham inside the business and requested he step outside. Graham complied and once outside, the officer advised him he was under arrest due to having the outstanding warrants.

Graham allegedly jumped backwards as the officer attempted to place him in custody and yanked his hands out of reach. The officer was able to gain compliance by physically forcing Graham to the ground.

Graham was arrested and charged with additional counts of resisting arrest and violation of two felony probation. He was booked without further incident.
