The Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument will be closed until further notice starting Wednesday afternoon.
UKIAH, CA — The California Bureau of Land Management announced on Wednesday that the Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument in Lake and Napa Counties will be closed until further notice amid ongoing wildfires in northern California.
The emergency closure was issued Wednesday in the wake of seven fires that have burned more than 45,000 acres in the area of the national monument.
The order states any non-exempt person who violates the closure and enters closed lands without permission could face criminal charges and, further, could be punished with a fine or up to 12 months behind bars.
