Retired Napa Judge To Lead Little Italy Historic Walking Tour
Napa's Italian-Americans were a close-knit community who were self-sufficient and grew much of their own food while also bartering.

NAPA, CA — Ray Guadagni, a Napa native and retired local judge, will lead a walking tour Saturday through Napa's very own Little Italy neighborhood.
Participants will receive a map of Little Italy— several blocks from a small portion of Third and Fourth Streets to Silverado Trail — and hear about a number of businesses owned and operated by Napa's Italian-American community in the mid-20th century. Residents of Little Italy formed a close-knit community, culturally similar to many immigrant populations. They were remembered as very self-sufficient; they grew much of their food and bartered with neighbors.
The tour is from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 7. Check-in is at Veterans Park at the corner of Main and Second streets and then the tour begins across the street at 813 Main St. — the site of the former Fagiani's Cocktail Lounge and Liquor Store, which was owned by a prominent Italian-American family from that era.
