NAPA COUNTY, CA — Fire officials Saturday night reopened a highway in Napa and Yolo counties that they closed earlier this week as a Yolo County wildfire grew. Both lanes of state Highway 128 from Monticello Dam at Lake Berryessa in Napa County to Pleasants Valley Road in Yolo County reopened at 8 p.m. as firefighters contained more of the Cold Fire, according to Cal Fire officials.
The fire was first reported at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. The cause is still under investigation.
No one has died and no one has been injured but the fire has burned 5,385 acres.
The fire was 45 percent contained as of 6 p.m. Calmer than expected winds Saturday allowed firefighters to make additional progress. Fire officials expect the fire to be 100 percent contained early
next week.
