Teen Brought Gun, Marijuana Vape Pen To School Monday: Police
The student was arrested and booked into county jail on gun and concentrated cannabis charges, police said.

AMERICAN CANYON, CA β A student at American Canyon High School is accused of bringing a gun to campus Monday, police said.
Shortly after 11:30 a.m., school staff noticed the smell of marijuana coming from 18-year-old ACHS student Hansra Avtar, police said. Staff suspected Avtar was under the influence of marijuana so they told the school resource officer.
Avtar was detained as he tried to walk away from campus and was searched by the officer at the request of the school staff.

It is alleged Avtar was found with a marijuana vape pen. The officer obtained Avtar's car keys and searched the car Avtar drove to school and parked on campus. It is alleged Avtar was found with a Glock 9mm unregistered firearm under his driver's seat.
Avtar was arrested on campus and then booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections on suspicion of possession of concentrated cannabis and possession of an unregistered firearm.

Avtar's bail was set at $25,000.
Police said school staff and parents were notified Monday afternoon of the arrest.
"There is no current threat to students or staff based on this incident," police said.
