Victims In Napa Double-Homicide Identified
Police said there had not been a homicide in the city of Napa since 2022.
NAPA, CA β The Napa County Sheriff-Coroner's Office has identified the victims of Saturday's double-fatal shooting.
Sasha Mufich, 17, of Napa, and Aileen Villasenor, 19, of Rohnert Park, were shot and killed around 8:10 p.m. Saturday in the 40o block of Riverside Drive, near the Napa River.
Police said there had not been a homicide in the city of Napa since 2022.

The victims were preliminarily identified by Napa police detectives the night of the shooting and detectives have remained in contact with the families of the victims since that time, the police department said.
Because of formalities in the investigation, the police department would not release the names of the victims until their identities could be confirmed by the Napa Sheriffβs Office Coroner, Napa police Detective Dustin Dodd said.

The Napa Sheriff-Coroner's Office conducted the autopsies Thursday and confirmed their identities.
Because Mufich was underage, the Napa Police Department was not planning on releasing her name, Dodd said.
"However, the Napa Sheriffβs Office is now required to due to a public records act request," Dodd said.
Both victims were found lying near the roadway, suffering from gunshot wounds, when officers arrived. Officers and emergency personnel began life-saving efforts but the victims' injuries were too severe.
Villasenor was rushed to a hospital where she later died. Mufich died at the scene.
The victims were acquaintances and have familial ties to Napa, police said.
Investigators worked through the weekend on the case and on Monday arrested John Nicholson, 22, of Vallejo as the primary suspect.
Early Tuesday, Jessica Whitten, 19, and Judith Adolph, 19, both of Santa Rosa, were arrested on suspicion of aiding in a felony.
The Napa County District Attorney's Office on Wednesday filed two counts of homicide and several other charges against Nicholson in the case. He remained behind bars and was being held without bail.
Whitten and Adolph were also being held without bail while the DA's Office investigated suspeted involvement.
