VIDEO: Family Hoisted To Safety During Helicopter Rescue

California Highway Patrol's air operations rescued a family of six suffering from heat exhaustion and dehydration​ in Napa County.

NAPA COUNTY, CA — After they were airlifted to safety Monday evening, a family of six is now recovering.

According to the California Highway Patrol's air operations, just before 7 p.m., the Napa County Sheriff's Office requested the agency's assistance to help locate a family — two adults and four children — in the area of the Oat Hill Mine Trail and Palisades Trail.

CHP's H-30 helicopter responded to the area and located the family. Authorities said when they were found, they were suffering from heat exhaustion and dehydration.

The crew landed nearby and reconfigured for a hoist, CHP said.

It wasn't immediately known what prompted the rescue in the first place.
