Watch: Winning Entries, Napa County Water Conservation Video Contest

NAPA COUNTY, CA β With a challenging theme, "The Futureβs So Bright, Weβre Gonna Need Shade (Trees)," and a new 45-second video length requirement, the ninth annual Napa County Water Conservation Video Contest drew clever and entertaining entries from students throughout the region.
Congratulations go out to this yearβs winner, Ryan Cooper of American Canyon High, who took home the top prize of $1,500 for his "Save Water, Save Trees!"

Ryan employed stunning Lego animation to demonstrate water-efficient care of trees and their essential role in our urban environment. This winning video can be seen on the big screen as part of the pre-show program for all films at the Century Napa Valley Theatre, June 21-27.
Congratulations also go out to this yearβs second-place winner, the team of Jesalin Davis and Ana Lomeli from Napa High. Their video "In the Shade of Conservation" garnered them $1,000.

The third-place prize of $500 went to American Canyon Highβs Sarah Satake and Bailey Caruso for their "Tree Preservation: As Seen on TV."
This contest was open to all ninthβ12th graders in Napa County and 47 video submissions were received. Contest sponsors included the cities of Napa, American Canyon, St. Helena and Calistoga, the Town of Yountville, Napa San, Napa County and the Napa County Resource Conservation District.
Final judging was conducted by water conservation staff from the agencies. Full contest details and the top videos from all nine years can be viewed online at www.napawatersheds.org/videocontest.
