Wine Country Aerials' Grand Opening Really Swings

A new Napa fitness program, Wine Country Aerials, had their grand opening on Saturday to a packed house of prospective members and friends.

Students and instructors demonstrated the art of using silks to gain strength, coordination and confidence for all fitness levels and body types while learning the graceful art of aerial acrobatics.

Over 100 guest and prospective members came to the grand opening featuring demonstrations on the long silks with beginning students and more advanced students showing various moves and techniques involved in the art.

One girl and one woman from the audience who have never tired aerial acrobatics before were able to get up on the silks with instructions from a teacher. 

The little girl wanted to show off her new found ability and said she wanted to stay longer on the silks.

Napa Valley marketing director Leslie Bramwell-Smith said she has taken up the aerial acrobats and has even added silks hanging from a 10-foot ceiling at her home so she can practice.  

Wine Country Aerials is located at 818E Jackson St., on the north side of downtown Napa near the Napa Valley Wine Train tracks.
