• Parole assists in San Diego gun safety event (ca.gov) — A recent gun safety event in South Bay Chula Vista, supported by the National City Police Department and other agencies, collected 138 unwanted firearms in exchange for gift cards. Held at the South Bay Superior Courthouse, the effort also distributed free gun locks and will return any stolen weapons to owners while destroying the rest, aiming to improve safety across nearby communities including National City.
