NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Motorists in Newport Beach may experience some traffic on their evening commute when pavement rehabilitation begins Wednesday on a portion of East Coast Highway.

The construction work will be on a portion of the road between MacArthur Boulevard and Newport Coast Drive until the middle of May. Work will take place on Sunday nights to Friday mornings from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Newport Beach officials said.

Intermittent lane closures will occur throughout construction, and detours will be in place, officials said.
