Costa Mesa Police Searching For Man Accused Of Attacking Women

Authorities said Johnny Young is wanted in connection with several people who were harassed and attacked in Costa Mesa.

COSTA MESA, CA — The Costa Mesa Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding a man wanted in connection with harassing and pepper-spraying women outside of a nightclub.

Police identified Johnny Young, 25, as a suspect in the assault and several hate crimes in the area.

The Costa Mesa Police Department said Young filmed himself in two separate incidents harassing women outside of a nightclub at the Triangle Square shopping center and spraying them with an unidentified chemical. He reportedly assaulted several people who confronted him after the incidents, police said.

"Young, a self-described involuntary celibate (incel), is wanted in connection to several hate crimes," Costa Mesa police said. "Young has confronted several females outside of bars in Costa Mesa using vulgar and explicit language."

Young is known to drive a white-colored Chevy cargo van with a large green stripe, police said.
