Gas Prices In Newport Beach Drops By One Cent From December

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — The average price for a gallon of gasoline in Orange County dropped by about two-tenths of a cent to about $4.64 — three-tenths of a cent less than it was one week ago and 1.2 cents cheaper than last month.

Although gas prices in Orange County have declined by about 4.3 cents since the cost of a gallon rose to $4.68 in November, the current cost is still $1.37 more expensive than it was one year ago.

In Newport Beach, the cheapest place to fill up on gas was the 76 station at 3401 Newport Blvd. The price for a gallon of gas at the station was $4.49, according to Gas Buddy.

The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in Los Angeles County decreased three-tenth of a cent Tuesday to $4.67.

The average price is a half-cent less than one week ago and eight-tenths of a cent lower than one month ago, but $1.38 higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

It has dropped 4.1 cents since hitting the record high of $4.71 on Nov. 27.
