A 62-year-old homeless man riding a bicycle was struck and killed by a vehicle in Huntington Beach, authorities said Saturday.
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — A 62-year-old homeless man riding a bicycle was struck and killed by a vehicle in Huntington Beach, authorities said Saturday morning.
The victim was riding his bike southbound on Pacific Coast Highway near Seapoint Street at 10:20 p.m. Friday when he crossed into the northbound lanes and was struck by a 2014 Honda CRV being driven by a 72-year-old man from Huntington Beach, according to Sgt. Joshua Page of the Huntington Beach Police Department.
The victim was not wearing a helmet and suffered fatal head injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Page said.

Alcohol or drugs were not suspected as factors in the crash and the driver remained at the location and cooperated with the investigation, Page said.
The name of the victim was not released.
