The Newport Beach Film Festival (NBFF) has come and gone, capping another all-out edition of amazing films, vibrant cultural gatherings and engaging awards season conversations in the beautiful coastal Southern California — replete with that ever-resplendent Hollywood magic and flair.
Famous for its intimate beachside setting and luxury-lifestyle ambience, the film fest celebrated its 23rd anniversary, spotlighting over 350 films from nearly 50 countries, including 135 features and 200 shorts.
The 2022 film festival kicked off this year’s festivities on Oct. 13 with the U.S. premiere screening of “WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story,” Eric Appel’s satire of biopics loosely based on Yankovic’s life and career, starring Daniel Radcliffe as the eponymous music artist. Guests in attendance included Appel, Dr. Demento and Tommy O’Brien.
