Newport Beach PD Asks for Public's Help in Identifying Bank Robber
Union Bank on East Coast Highway was targeted Friday by a man who displayed a firearm and demanded cash.

Hoping to generate leads in their investigation, Newport Beach police today released surveillance video images of a robber who held up a Union Bank branch last week.
The robbery occurred about 2 p.m. Friday at 2865 East Coast Highway, according to Jennifer Manzella of the Newport Beach Police Department.

The armed suspect flashed his weapon at a teller as he demanded cash, Manzella said.
The robber ditched a bag he stuffed the loot in, along with clothes and the gun, Manzella said.

The suspect is a white man in his 30s or 40s who is 6 feet tall and weighs about 180 pounds with a medium build, Manzella said.
