Newport Beach Traffic At Standstill After Car Crashes On PCH: Sigalert

Separate early morning car crashes blocked all lanes of traffic Thursday on a portion of Pacific Coast Highway through Newport Beach.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Separate car crashes on the Pacific Coast Highway in Newport Beach Thursday morning brought traffic in the south and northbound lanes to a standstill.

The first crash happened around 9:32 a.m. on PCH at Balboa Boulevard and Superior Avenue. Traffic was backed up to Brookhurst Street, according to the Sigalert.

The second crash happened near PCH at the end of the 55 Freeway and Newport Boulevard around 9:34 a.m. Traffic stretched to Dover Drive, the Sigalert reported.

All lanes of traffic surrounding the crash sites were blocked until further notice.
