Pelican Hill Resort: 'Creme de la Creme'
Luxury travel expert Andrew Harper names the Newport Beach getaway his "Grand Resort" of 2012.

Since it opened three years ago, has been collecting awards for service and hospitality. On Friday, it picked up another international honor.
The accolade comes from luxury travel expert Andrew Harper's Hideaway Report - a monthly publication for travel connoisseurs. In the January Grand Awards issue, Harper names Pelican Hill its "Grand Resort" for 2012. In a released statement, Harper said the award recognizes “the crème de la crème of the properties that I have visited during the previous 12 months. Each has demonstrated a devotion to personal service and refined hospitality.”
Earlier, in the October edition, the Hideaway Report's 2011 Readers Choice Awards recognized Pelican Hill as one of its Top 9 Golf Resorts, Top 10 Family Resorts and Top 20 Spa Resorts. The Hideaway Report also published a of the resort earlier this year.

Giuseppe Lama, managing director of Pelican Hill, said the resort is ecstatic over the latest accolade.
“This prestigious honor is a testament to the Pelican Hill team’s vision, passion and dedication to create a luxury destination to serve the world’s most discerning guests,” Lama said.

In October, the Irvine Co. resort was also ranked as the by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler.
