NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Newport Beach residents were warned Thursday of upcoming closures on Newport Coast Drive as the city's repaving project on the main road continues. Residents experienced the first of the closures on Friday, as motorists experienced northbound Newport Coast Drive and side street closures. Residents can expect more Newport Coast Drive closures starting Wednesday, July 5, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily for roughly two weeks. Newport Beach residents were urged to use the alternate route of Coast Highway to MacArthur Boulevard to San Joaquin Hills Road.
