What's Closed in Newport Beach on Martin Luther King Day

The holiday is observed the third Monday of January each year.

Schools and government offices will close countywide Monday in observance of the birthday of civil rights icon Martin Luther King, Jr.

The federal holiday will close all financial markets and shutter most government offices, including the courts, in Orange County.

Schools, too, will take the day off. Orange County libraries are also closing their doors.

No mail will be sent or delivered by the U.S. Postal Service and the majority of banks will take the day off.

In Newport Beach, there will be no street sweeping on Monday and City Hall and the OASIS Senior Center in Corona del Mar will be closed.

Trash collection schedules will not be affected by the holiday.
