$2.7 Million Lottery Ticket Sold In Sun Valley

The ticket contained five correct numbers, but not the Mega number. The jackpot for Friday's drawing is an estimated $22 million.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A Sun Valley liquor store sold a Mega Million lottery ticket worth almost $2.7 million, the California Lottery announced.

The ticket, worth $2,694,898, was sold Tuesday at Jerry's Liquor near the intersection of Saticoy Street and Vineland Avenue, close to the Hollywood-Burbank Airport. It contained five correct numbers, but was missing the Mega number. No tickets were sold with all six numbers, and the estimated jackpot for Friday’s drawing will grow to $22 million, according to City News Service.

The numbers drawn Tuesday were 6, 14, 19, 56, 62, with a Mega number 9. The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number are 1 in 302,575,350, according to the California Lottery. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24.

On Oct. 4, a shopper in Morro Bay, Calif. became the first Powerball winner of 2021, nabbing $699.8 million for guessing all six numbers correctly. The winner won the 5th largest Powerball jackpot and the 7th largest jackpot in state history.
