4 Construction Workers Injured After Fall Down Elevator Shaft

The workers took a 30-foot fall down an elevator shaft at the site of a five-story building under construction in North Hollywood.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA – Four workers were injured Friday, three of them critically, in a 30-foot fall down an elevator shaft at the site of a five-story building under construction in North Hollywood.

Firefighters and paramedics were sent to the 11000 block of Otsego Street shortly before 1 p.m., said Amy Bastman of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

One of the patients was in fair condition and all four men, ranging in age from 45 to 60 years old, were taken to a hospital, according to Bastman.

Cal/OSHA, which investigates workplace accidents, was notified.
