Police Hope Video of Rapist Will Lead To His Identity

Police released video of a man who broke into a woman's apartment in Echo Park and sexually assaulted her.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Police Friday circulated security video in hopes of tracking down a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman in her apartment in Echo Park.

The crime occurred about 5 a.m. Nov. 4 in the 1800 block of Sunset Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

"The suspect utilized the fire escape to access the victim's bedroom window," according to an LAPD statement. "The suspect then pried the window open, entered the bedroom and sexually assaulted the victim."

The woman woke up and pushed the man away, and he fled through the front door, police said.

He's described as Hispanic, 19-25 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall and 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a green jacket, dark pants and black Adidas shoes.
