Ursula Maria Makes Her Mark in 'The B3ast'

The Acclaimed Austrian Actress Explores her Dramatic Side in the Film Thriller from Producer Caesar Bijou!

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – When Ursula Maria was growing up in Austria, she was drawn to the world of the arts and entertainment. While training as a dancer and performing all over Austria, she often dreamed of acting in movies and on TV shows.

Today, talented actress is preparing to work on producer Caesar Bijou’s newest film, “The B3ast,” a sci-fi thriller about a deadly viral outbreak that wreaks havoc across the country as it spreads to points around the world.

“I’m very thrilled and excited to join this new production,” Maria said. “It’s a great story that touches on many of the issues of today and our current pandemic.”

In the film, Maria will portray Monica, the assistant to the president of the United States, whom unbeknownst to him has a separate and more dangerous agenda.

The film, which is currently casting and set to begin production later this year, is just the latest project for the actress who already has two other films in various stages of pre-production or production. Among these is the upcoming “Make it Big,” from writer/director Steve Karageanes (“Needlestick”). She will also work in an upcoming film from director Kely McClung (“Kerberos”), who has previously cast her as the lead in his movie “Loop,” which went on to collect many awards at film festivals, including Best Actress for Maria at the Indie Fest USA International Film Festival in 2016.

“I’ve always been excited by engaging stories with great characters that really show different sides of humanity,” Maria said. “I’m looking forward to begin shooting these projects and bring these imaginative characters to life.”

Having grown up as an excellent athlete with a fascination for the performing arts, Maria quickly gravitated toward acting, dance, performing and modeling at an early age, ultimately graduating with a university degree in theater, film and media studies. After spending years dancing, acting and modeling in her native country, she moved to Los Angeles to study at the renowned Stella Adler Academy in Los Angeles, completing the extensive full-time program.

“It was very intense. Classes every day sometimes ending close to midnight,” she said. “Rehearsals on weekends. It demands all your time and attention, but I learned a lot!”

Her energetic personality and ability to take on unique characters soon earned her the attention of casting directors and talent agencies alike.

Today, Maria has nearly two dozen film credits, ranging from comedy and crime dramas to sci-fi thrillers that test her ability embody characters that often face the ultimate life-and-death struggle.

Meanwhile, Maria is looking forward to her upcoming projects and building her reputation as a talented actress with diverse skills who is at home in drama, action/adventure or quirky comedies.

“I’ve had such a great time shooting the film ‘Loop’ where I played a complex character and got to do my own stunts,” she said. “Being athletic and coming from dance helps a lot. I love being active and taking on a physical role. Characters that go through intense life-changing events are some of my favorites to portray.”

As for the future, the actress aims to continue to take on challenging roles and ultimately develop and produce her own films.
