Valley Cannabis Grow Operation Catches Fire On Thanksgiving: LAFD

The marijuana grow operation was of uncertain legal status and the cause of the fire is under investigation, the LAFD said.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — Firefighters extinguished a blaze at a building that housed a cannabis growing operations of uncertain legal status on Thanksgiving Day, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Crews responded to a one-story commercial building at 5708 N. Cahuenga Blvd., just south of Whitnall Highway, Thursday at around 5 a.m., according to the LAFD.

It took 87 firefighters 28 minutes to extinguish the blaze, which was confined within the building and its ventilation system, firefighters said.

The case of the fire and the legal status of the growing operation remains under investigation, according to the LAFD.
